Volume up! Lucky to record a group of 4 Little Curlew (Numenius minutus 小杓鹬 Xiǎo biāo yù) as they migrated overhead at the ChaoBai River this morning. A lovely 'curlew-ey' rising call.

Sad but interesting find. A Water Rail clutch 'crowed', Rye Meads, Herts. Some rare skills from the corvid to find the nest and remove six eggs, presumably one at a time, and neatly open them up. Turned over they look whole.

Just been through my pics from a long weekend in Cyprus. Struggled with the endemic scops owl sadly (glimpsed only) but a fab trip with 109/113 bird species; also 11 herptiles,13 butterflies (just 3 or 4 mammals though) and some pretty cool inverts. More pics to follow in thread.
