Remember when radical right wing extremists were convinced that they wanted 'Lots' Frost to lead the Tories and he would definitely win an election for them, if only he'd resign from the lord's and stand as an MP. Don't understand why Frost hasn't done this yet?

Tory source: 'The fact that Ben Houchen won and the others didn't, shows that people wanted more corruption from their Conservative politicians like Ben, and that's why we lost. The plan is working. Rwanda.'

I remain baffled that the people of Teeside watch a mayor rob them blind to give millions to his mates and think 'Yep - we'll have some more of that!'

Number of council seats Reform has won: 0

(Surprising, in the circumstances, that the BBC continues to talk about it incessantly and repeatedly platform Richard Tice.)

26 point Con to Lab swing in Blackpool South - third biggest swing ever. Reform UK's 16.9% is the best they've achieved in a by-election *but* it is less than UKIP managed in the general election in 2015 in the same seat - and miles below what UKIP was getting regularly inโ€ฆ

Strong ReformUK showings in Sunderland - they're up a lot on last year, but still well behind the shares UKIP got in the same wards in the run up to Brexit years of 2015 & 2016

Sam Coates: Are you confident there won't be a challenge from parliamentary colleagues... they'll be seeing their seats going at a general election

Richard Holden(Tory Party Chair): 'These results are typical for a govt in mid-term'

Mid-term... we're months away from a GE.

Just confirmed on LBC that Labour has gained Washington South ward on Sunderland City Council from Reform UK. A similar result at the general election involving one Mr Lee Anderson would be very welcome indeed

When the last election was held, 2 May 2024 marked the latest possible date for the next general election โ€“ until this government extended its own term.

Rishi Sunak is now governing on โ€˜borrowedโ€™ time.
