This time tomorrow I will be part-way through the London Marathon. I'm taking part in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support and would really appreciate it if anyone can spare a few pounds to sponsor me: 2024tcslondonmarathon.enthuse.com/pf/erica-jones
Unexpectedly stumbled across Black Gull Books (was Black Gull Books) in St Leonard’s at the end of a wet and windy day out elsewhere. A wonderful way to part company with £50 and we could’ve easily bought a lot more. We’re looking forward to returning for a proper day out there.
Lovely unexpected trip to Barnetts of Wadhurst, where I treated myself to my only book of the Christmas season, and Dr Chris Haan (pictured centre after he gently threw me out of the bookshop) did his best to ensure my upcoming birthday doesn’t suffer the same drought.
Lovely post from T E Shepherd. Author | Illustrator ✒️🎨, The Booklover’s Guide to Bookshops, to inspire your bookshopping in 2024…
It cannot be said enough: bookshops, especially independent bookshops, are wonderful. Click on the tweet to read the full post. #ReadingInReading
Our #BookshopDay purchases from Sevenoaks Bookshop. It was lovely being in the bookshop, hearing other bookshoppers chatting about
a) how much they loved the bookshop
And/or
b) how they were visiting especially for National Bookshop Day 🧡
The countdown to #BookshopDay is nearly over! I don't need an excuse to visit an indie bookshop, but there's always something special about this day of the year. Roll on Saturday!
Counting down to #BookshopDay , so much choice, so little time, I'm struggling to make my mind up about where we should visit...
There’s a new tote in my life, which means #BookshopDay is just around the corner. I cannot wait to fill this up in an indie or two on 14th October - my favourite day of the year Books Are My Bag
I loved seeing how busy Mary Manley was. It was hard to take photos because there were so many people enjoying the books. And I finally got to see the model train 🚂
We made it to The Accidental Bookshop of the lovely Forum Books + the bound + The Accidental Bookshop Family. Lots to tempt me but I had to go for a local novel, with poetry for the boy. Also had some great little chats with one of the booksellers - this place has great stories.
And now a trip to Cogito Books, which has been on my must-visit list for more than a decade. What a wonderful bookshop, packed with so many titles I’ve read and loved that I enjoyed getting a recommendation here.
