The real problems are high taxes, bullshit jobs, and the breakdown of trust in government.
What is the point in knocking your pan in in a dead end job when the government steals a large part of your salary via tax, squanders it, and breaks its promises on pensions?

Yes but it would have been even better if the UK had just followed the UK's own pandemic response plans and not been panicked into lockdowns by a pandemic modeller with a track record of repeated failure and who is still, incredibly, in a position to influence government.
