Due to Alex Jones being allowed back on X (theguardian.com/technology/202…), I've deleted the X app, so now you can't even message me here. Still contemplating if I'm going to refuse to open links here like I do for 4chan and other disinformation platforms.

For those that don't love the letter 'X', I'm still happy over at Mastodon (I came over just to see if the app changed its logo yet).

Today, 'What's happening' had 'Hooters' (probably because some mom took her 5 year-old to the restaurant for his birthday), but that label was definitely not about owls. And it only has 6,500 tweets about it which is rather low to trigger a 'What's happening' placement.

Not good

Today:

- Promotion of hashtag overwhelmingly about anti-vaxxers hating on the Moderna plant being built in Canada
- A boost to a Musk tweet about growth
- Something about Ted Cruz being gay

This is not looking good for me staying here.

asyncore, asynchat and smtpd modules, deprecated since Python 3.6, are removed in Python 3.12: github.com/python/cpython… You should either update your code to asyncio and aiosmtpd, or maintain these modules outside Python stdlib.

Considering my 'What's Happening' has a trending hashtag from anti-vaxxers, my time being active here is on borrowed time. Given folks were given a week before they were laid off, I will give this platform the same amount of time to get cleaned up.
