The Telegraph framing of Brexit failure takes the biscuit.

“Ultimately, the 'soft-Remainer view' that Starmer might be able to negotiate a 'superior, closer deal with the EU while remaining outside the single market, is deluded', said Sherelle Jacobs, assistant comment editor…

'We are the architects of our own demise. And our own demise started in 2016 when we made the ridiculous vote to come out of Europe'

Yes - Rose Rickford nails it:

'And now, this week, suddenly it's 'I would have said something, but both sides were so toxic'. No. That's not why you didn't say anything. YOU DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING BECAUSE YOU WERE SCARED OF THE GENDER IDENTITY LOBBY. That's okay. They were, and…

In the last few years, I’ve written a fair bit about “cancel culture” on the left. But the right has a mirror image problem—a reluctance to ever draw a line.

There's a bit in James Graham's This House which is a kind of montage / medley type thing of all the MPs the 74 Labour govt lost for mad reasons, mainly either dying or faking their own death. The 2019 version would be so insane no one could possibly believe it.

'Let's get it banned'. The endless appetite for sadistically punishing political enemies by this lot would make Stalin blush. Never forget what power these authoritarian monsters once wielded and how ready they were to use it.
