Breaking/

Appalling news that Department of Health and Social Care has decided to stop funding mental health services for hospital doctors from
Monday.

When I was broken & traumatised during Covid, sessions with an NHS Practitioner Health psychologist helped me back on my feet.

How can the govt suspend this?

Excellent to see our paper on sustainability, the climate crisis and the NHS published today, led brilliantly by Rita Issa, as part of the The BMJ Commission on the Future of the NHS

Not only is this Thought for the Day ace because it celebrates Imperial College London's win on with Amol Rajan, but it's also a powerful message about what universities are for:

Do GPs now & those in training want to be consultants in primary care, supervising a team of non-medically qualified healthcare staff? Or do they aspire to traditional general practice, holding a personal list, offering expert medical care & continuity bmj.com/content/385/bm…

As a medical student and junior doctor , we spent hours being taught how to break bad news to patients. Now patients are finding out about awful diagnoses and results on the nhs app before speaking to anyone. How has it come to this and exactly who is this good for? NHS England

My point here is not that I dislike 'delve,' though I do, but that it's a sign that text was written by ChatGPT.

We can hardly believe it has been a whole month since the Elsie Inglis Charity Ball, during which the Global Women in Healthcare Awards were presented. Held in partnership with the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, the celebrations have continued well into April...

Hyperemesis is hell. One lovely thing about twitter is how it’s connected me with people like madeline odent to validate the hell, and share what we know about how to get through it.

Interested in the science underlying mental health? Next month I'm giving not one but TWO public talks for Pint of Science UK, on 13th (London) and 15th May (Cambridge). Why does depression often overlap with metabolic disease? Grab a pint, pull up a chair and find out. Tickets👇
