🌍🔬 Anticipation is building ahead of the 22 Apr. release of European State of the Climate ( #ESOTC ) 2023 report, produced in partnership with World Meteorological Organization.
The ESOTC will provide an analysis of Earth's climate in 2023, placing it within the historical context.

Today, Copernicus ECMWF are reporting that February 2024 was the warmest globally on record.

💧 Last month was wetter than average in a large band from the Iberian Peninsula to western Russia;
💧 Drier-than-average conditions were seen over most of the Mediterranean.

❄️ #Antarctic sea ice reached its annual minimum monthly extent at 28% below average;
❄️ #Arctic sea ice extent was 2% below average, well below the values of the 1980s and 1990s.
