Writing tips that have led to 500+ angry replies disagreeing with me:

1. Reduce commas. It's usually better to use a period.

2. Start sentences with 'and' and 'but'. Choppy copy works.

3. Ditch all formality. Be casual.

You can follow convention.

But these might work better.

When I mention my service in a post, I generate 10-15 leads.

When I don't mention it, I only get 1-3 leads in the entire day.

Whatever you sell, talk about it.

If you don't, nobody will buy it.

I tried eCommerce.
Lost $20k and 2 years of my life.

Lost $50k and 1 year of my life.

I tried online writing.
It turned into an incredible career.

Keep trying stuff.

You never know what's gonna stick.

If your friend starts a small business, buy something from them.

If your friend starts creating content, give them likes and replies.

If your friend is on a review website like Yelp, give them 5 stars.

Supporting people is cheap or free.

But to them, it's priceless.

If you enjoy a post, give it a like.

If you love a post, leave a reply.

If you really love it, DM the author.

If you don't like it, just ignore it.

Social media can be a bit nasty.

This is how you make it better.

Formal writing = Ineffective writing

Extensive → Huge
Additionally → Also
Furthermore → Plus
In the event that → If
Exemplary → Amazing
Subsequently → Then/later
For instance → For example
Dear {name} → (Just delete this)

Keep it casual.

Simple 1 hour per day personal brand building schedule:

- 5 minutes getting an idea
- 15 minutes writing it
- 5 minutes editing
- 25 minutes engaging in niche
- 5 minutes replying to replies
- 5 minutes DMing people

That's all it takes.

Start small and scale up.

The best writing:

1. Uses short/choppy sentences and paragraphs, not long ones.

2. Uses words a 5th grader can understand, not complicated ones.

3. Gets right to the point instead of having a fancy introduction.

Smart people write dumb.

Bad copywriting:

- What you sell
- What it includes
- Buy now

Good copywriting:

- The problem you solve
- Proof that you can solve it
- Why it's painful
- How you solve it
- Why you're unique
- How you minimize risk
- More proof
- Buy now
- Even more proof

Getting 1 great job usually means searching hard for 6+ months.

Building 1 great business usually means grinding for 5+ years.

The level of success you achieve is proportional to the amount of failure you're willing to endure.

'10 mind-blowing AI tools'

- $0 generated

'How I {did something desirable for myself or a client}'

- $5000 generated

Customers over clout.

Reminder for content creators:

1. 80% of your followers don't see the majority of your posts.

2. 99.999999% of people on Earth haven't seen any of your posts.

Hit the same useful and resonant angles over and over again.

You're allowed to repeat yourself.

ChatGPT prompt for content creators:

'I write for {audience}. Give me:

1. 25 emotional problems they might have that could be solved by insights.

2. 25 tactical problems they might have that could be solved by tips/guides.'

Then create problem-solving content.

LinkedIn is still the biggest secret in the social media world.

It's better than Twitter.

It's better than Facebook.

It's better than Instagram.

If you're not on it yet, get on.

If you are, keep going.

$500 client:

'I'll need a detailed report of hours worked every day, and if performance is lacking, a refund'

$5000 client:

*Literally doesn't speak to you for 6 months, just trusts you to keep doing good work for them*

Features = Appeal to rationality
Advantages = A bit of both
Benefits = Appeal to emotion

Example:

F = 200 Mbps download speed
A = Fast and reliable internet
B = Seamless entertainment

Whatever you sell, write these down and use them in your pitch.

Self-rejection kills more dreams than actually getting rejected.

Post content, send cold emails, apply to jobs, go to networking events, try new skills.

Don't be so afraid of failure that you never give yourself a chance to succeed.

Just try stuff.
