Inflation is rising largely because of housing costs. Our national housing shortage is hurting our macroeconomics.

I think a lot of 'normal people' don't realize how many coal plants are still operating in Texas -- 13 plants polluting the air we breathe. So this announcement that solar is now producing more energy for Texas than coal is a very, very cool thing power-eng.com/solar/texas-so…

Can we talk about how there are now two transwomen serving on the Austin Planning Commission? Proud of our Council for walking the walk

This is the IRL correct take. ATX is the 10th largest city in America and ranked ~140th in crime. Compared to European crime rates, though, it'd look terrible.

Difference is a) guns and b) social supports.

📢High passenger volumes are predicted for tomorrow!

We're expecting tomorrow to break record for one of our top busiest days! Please arrive *at least* 2.5 hours early for domestic + 3 hours early for international.

the compatibility changes being considered are huge. if you've wondered, hey, why is it so hard to get an apartment where I can walk to the grocery store in Austin, a big part of that is compatibility:

We cut the ribbon on Pomerleau Park today! This pocket park exists due to the efforts of many people, but especially the Pomerleau family, who were on hand today to inaugurate the park on land that was originally their home.

Great oped on the environmental benefits of lowering our minimum lot size and allowing duplexes, four pieces and other missing middle housing in Austin.

2015 me would be pleased, but not surprised, that within 10 years the City would hold up our small lot homes as a positive example for housing. And as part of an effort to change the code! Play the long game friends!

We fight hard at FarmAndCity for legalizing urbanism in every city in Texas & also for smart affordable housing subsidies, like the $300 million ETOD / Anti-Displacement Fund we proposed.

This two-pronged strategy is working in Austin, even as ATX still needs to ramp up both.

Wow. Four months of birth control for $60 with no prescription required!

Progress like this reduces unwanted pregnancies (and abortions!) by giving people more options, not taking away their rights.
