Only 27 percent of NCAA Division II scholarship athletes who enter the transfer portal end up receiving a scholarship from another institution. This is a story that needs to be told. Do the math. 73 percent give up a scholarship to enter portal, then don’t get one to replace it.

Mike Modano will forever be a favorite of mine. When I was in college I went to see the Stars play and fell in love with the game. When my wife and I moved here in 99 they won the Cup. Can’t believe it has taken this long to get him a statue but glad it’s happening!

Experienced coaches, make sure you are taking the time to check in on younger ones that are going through it. The only way we can leave our profession better than we found it is if there is a younger generation ready to take the reins. We are losing too many really good ones!
