How do you think pressuring people to change works????? “Hey! Just to be clear I’m going to vote for you NO MATTER WHAT but could you please consider altering course on that thing you’ve made no indication you’ll alter course on?”

stop blaming president joe biden for not doing anything about the police violence and funding the israeli occupation. he’s just a little guy, presidents are weak. plus don’t you understand if he loses trump will become president and have unlimited power

I’m shocked by how there are people now saying that the anti-Vietnam war movement in campus was somehow different and somehow sanctioned. That is so revisionist. Activism, is inherently and purposefully disruptive to the status quo. they were seen as agitators. Now heroes.

Here is katie honan confronting Deputy Commissioner of Public Information with evidence that the chain he wielded to imply that “outside agitators” barricaded Hamilton Hall is a common bike lock that Columbia University itself sold to their students

I was a third-year college student before this genocide started, but I'll never be able to finish my studies because Israeli occupation forces bombed my university and every other university in Gaza. Thanks to the brave college students who are protesting and advocating for us,

Mass media is attempting to lie and say infiltrators got into Columbia. There is zero evidence of that. At the same time they're trying to say the NYPD was calm and professional in dealing with the protest. There is endless evidence that the opposite is true.

The 'outside agitator' is classic agitprop + projection. King demystified it for us in his 'Letter from Birmingham Jail.'

The way WKCR journalists are handling copaganda (insisting on confirmation and verification before repeating tropes and rumors) versus the way CNN is not only uncritically repeating police statements but marveling at their tactics is truly something to behold.

A woman on CNN is saying the anti-Vietnam protests were different from the situation now, which is “very polarizing.”

People always do this — make it seem like past activists were somehow uncontroversial.

It’s nonsense. Activism by its nature is antagonistic to the status quo.

There’s no coming back from this. I don’t know how you convince people - especially young people - you have their best interests at heart and they can trust you and then sic the entire police force on them when they demand transparency and accountability. It’s reprehensible.

Police were quite literally throwing tables and pushing students down the stairs until one passed out. Inviting the NYPD onto campus at Columbia University University has both destroyed more property and endangered more people than the original occupation of the building.

NYPD pushed a girl down the stairs knocking her unconscious. Here they are arresting the people protecting her.
