Mark Andrews appeared to have suffered a valgus left ankle injury. Likely a high ankle sprain. Guessing deltoid/syndesmotic injury, possible distal fibular fracture

I have found that lateral peritalar subluxation can be corrected with a hindfoot nail by derotating the subtalar joint out of external rotation. 6 weeks post-op and starting to weightbear without pain. Liz Sklar

Open injury 30 years ago. Planning 2-stage SMO followed by total ankle replacement. Pain is localized to the ankle joint. How would you manage?

It looked like Patrick Mahomes suffered a valgus-external rotation injury to his right ankle, causing deltoid ligament & syndesmotic (high ankle) sprains. His x-rays at halftime must have been negative for fracture but I would expect him to get an MRI tomorrow.

This patient is very happy 6 weeks after total ankle arthroplasty for post-traumatic arthritis. He had a lot of hardware so I removed the hardware during a separate operation.

I have recently seen two cases of painful 3rd-4th intermetatarsal coalition. Pain recurs after immobilization. How is everyone treating these?

I have been using a 1.4mm K wire to help control the capital fragment with MIS bunion correction. Here, the m metatarsal head tended to go into varus when translated. I used the wire to supinate and control varus/valgus. How do you control the capital fragment?

Percutaneous surgery for severe hallux valgus deformity can achieve a large deformity correction, patient satisfaction, and quality of life with reasonable rates of residual deformity and low rates of recurrence. ow.ly/cauV50HnTTi

Total ankle Monday with Liz Sklar. One of the most rewarding procedures we do in terms of patients’ pain relief and improved quality of life.

Ezekiel Elliot limping to the sideline after right ankle inversion sprain. Likely ATFL sprain, questionable to return.

MIS hallux valgus correction has made bunions fun to fix because of better patient satisfaction, better range of motion and faster recovery. This patient has no pain in a sneaker at 6 weeks post-op.

The posterior facet of the subtalar joint and talar head are at risk of subtotal debridement, as well as increased tibiotalar tilt with the single medial incision double hindfoot arthrodesis: doi.org/10.1177/107110…
