In my first week at the D1 level, I was contacted by 12 AAU coaches and handlers who NEVER returned my calls or texts in my decade at the D3 level.

All 12 had a kid who was a “perfect fit” for a D1 team trying to rebuild.

So let’s talk about “fit”

After a great conversation with Colin Doss I’m appreciative to have received an offer to continue my academic and playing journey at JMCC

Whatever happened to when a kid wanted something bad enough we made em work for it!? Now adults want it more than the kids want it from themselves and do all the work and then wonder why kids fizzle out as the competition stiffens!

Everyone wants to be recruited to & play at the highest level. What they don't know is that it is so much more than what they do on the court!

“We spend a lot of time focusing on the parents. Are they going to be fans of their son or parents? Are they going to hold them accountable? Have an expectation that when something goes wrong, that it’s not the coach’s fault. Their son has to work harder, do more, earn his role,”

When you lower standards, the 'underachievers' are relieved.

Teamwork starts with trust. You see it on the best teams, how they share the ball. Stuelke wouldn’t run the floor hard if she thought Clark was selfish. The great teams know players will do their job!
