I've been trying to figure out if it's worth staying on post-Musk Twitter. Hosting DeSantis' kick off was the nail in the coffin.

I'm hoping to maintain connections and community I found here. I know its no substitute, but you can find me on LinkedIn linkedin.com/in/colleen-far…

Thanks to @ATSnursing for supporting my archival research on physician-nurse collaborations at the beginnings of critical care in the 1960s.

The historical development of critical care is as much about nursing as it is about technological and biomedical advances

I worked with a full professor internist in medical school who said if you want to be a *real doctor* you have to see your outpatients when they are admitted to the hospital. I mean, great thing to do, but also, what? People just have a thing with wanting to be rEaL dOcToRs 🥴

Last night on rounds it took me + 2 residents 20 minutes to clean up a baby with a blowout diaper, complete with an outfit & bed sheet change.. it was complete chaos & I just have so much respect for parents.

My college philosophy club once hosted a discussion on whether, 'A drunk person could consent to sex'.
I objected to holding this discussion, on the grounds that considering it an open question was damaging. My male peers overruled me.
That's how I feel about the 'trans debate'.

Last year, a coworker randomly asked me to hand-deliver an antique violin across the country. I said yes, because why not. I had no idea what I was getting into, and now I need your help. A 🧵

The problem with American “white liberalism” is that as they learn about marginalized people’s experiences, they try to relate to the marginalization and seek to align and ally themselves with them, rather than to fully examine the oppressor in themselves.

THREAD. This paragraph from the New York Times story on the murder of a tech executive in San Francisco is extremely revealing, and not in a good way. It represents one of the most subtle but significant pathologies in contemporary crime discourse.

I think academics have lost more than some care to admit as well; yes this place has had its issues with being a toxic hell hole, but, pre-musk, it was a way for researchers at smaller or less prestigious institutions to directly disseminate their work and dialogue about it

Ideas for Davy ר"ן, MD MSc MPH 🎨⚕️🏳️‍⚧️🦻 on how to get your writing published as a medical student?

Depends on the kind of writing (fiction, poetry, essays) but in-Training is a great place to start.
