Guy behind me on the plane spent about 2 hours talking about the ins and outs of “goat packing” which is apparently hiking with goats carrying your stuff. His passion for it was both refreshing and intense, but he did convince me that the big horn sheep lobby is up to no good.

It was -44 degrees this morning. I feel like I accomplished something by just being alive today.

While soprano Lisette Oropressa was singing her 4th encore, 'Sempre libera' an opera number that has a tenor part, opera student Liu Jianwei spontaneously joins her in song when he noticed there wasn't anyone else singing it (as this was a solo recital).

Today I learned that there are five types of rest:

1. Sleep
2. Solitude - doing stuff on your own
3. Stillness - doing nothing
4. Being in nature
5. Being with people with whom you share love

Get a balanced diet! Of the five types of rest!

CDC recommends wearing a mask but, like, you can wear it under your nose cause it’s hard to breathe.

First week of being a foster parent is in the books. Thank God for my brother giving me a crash course on parenting via text message. I think every kid should come with a text message help line.
