C of E hoping to create £1bn fund to address legacy of slavery.

The Church of England realises that £100m is not enough to repay for the legacy of the slave-trade. It will be interesting to see how the use it, but they are leading the way in Europe.

10 years after the Louise O'Keeffe decision in the European Court of Human Rights, the State is still fighting survivors of sexual abuse in schools and denying them their legal right to redress. Well done to Irish Human Rights & Equality Commission for intervening in this case.

Today we publish a new report - “That’s Not Your Role” - into State funding and advocacy in Ireland.

The report finds a worrying level of self-censorship by community & voluntary organisations receiving State funding due to fear of impact on funding.

Listening to the Dail debate on the Bill to provide supports for survivors of Industrial schools . Thomas Pringle T.D. is right when he says survivors are not listen to.

At a very minimum this Bill should revoke the gagging order in the original 2002 Act for the redress scheme .

Why does this Irish government repeatedly insult survivors, who 'say the legislation should provide all survivors with a Health Amendment Act (HAA) card rather than the proposed enhanced medical card.'

Yet again ! It's beyond belief. Can the opposition do something Senator Paul Gavan

Bill to make it easier for Irish people to get British citizenship progresses

Looks like Irish and British cousins on these Islands are getting closer. Reciprocity in citizenship seems inevitable. ⁦Irish in Britain⁩ irishexaminer.com/news/arid-4138…
