National School Lunch Week (NSLW) is a celebration from October 9–13, 2023 of the federal National School Lunch Program, which provides millions of children a nutritious meal each school day. Today, parents came to eat with their students in the cafeteria to celebrate this event.

GLOW party fun to celebrate school attendance at Southside Elementary School! Our students had so much fun singing and dancing while enjoying the lights. Students were so excited and can’t wait to celebrate again next month. Makes them want to come to school! Dinwiddie Co Schools

Today’s Yay of the Day! is Jeremiah in Ms. Parham-Prosise’s 2nd Grade class. Jeremiah noticed a student from Mrs. Burton's class crying because he lost his slap bracelet from the fundraiser during recess. Jeremiah gave the student his slap bracelet so he would feel better. 🐝

Today’s Yay of the Day! is Daelyn in Ms. Scott’s Kindergarten class. Daelyn is always ready to lend a helping hand in class. She's not afraid to ask questions and is a well rounded student! Way to BEE a great student! 🐝

Today’s Yay of the Day! is Azalea in Ms. Henshaw’s 3rd Grade class. She has been a great friend to her classmates by helping them stay organized in class and showing great citizenship. Way to BEE a positive influence Azalea! 🐝

Today’s Yay of the Day! Is Amari in Ms. Henshaw’s 3rd Grade class. She knew of a classmate who would be late to school and helped prepare their notes voluntarily. Way to be considerate of your classmates and attentive to their needs! 🐝

Today’s Yay of the Day! Is Mariah in Ms. Cox’s 5th Grade class. She was nominated because of the FANTASTIC start that she has had at Southside this year! When ADMIN came in to visit, Mariah was helping Ms. Moring with her materials! Keep up the great work! 🐝

Our Yay of the Day is Micah in Ms. Redd’s Bright Stars program. He is always paying close attention to his teacher, showing listening ears, following classroom rules, and sharing! He is such a great role model to his peers! Way to BEE a good leader Micah! 🐝
