Change is the only constant in life. If we do nothing about this it will get much much worse — not building enough is decimating communities everywhere in the Commonwealth and for what? Some neighborhood defenders hurt feelings about being wrong? Get over it.

We need better digital tools and systems to enable engineering biology at scale and building the future.

I've been very impressed by what Omer and team have done at Eleven Tx, taking great commercial SaaS and retrofitting it for biotech.

I counted no fewer than 25 cars blocking the Silver Line lane inbound between Lenox St and Downtown Crossing this morning. This continues because there seem to be no consequences for breaking the law. MBTA MBTATransitPD BostonTransportation Adam Gaffin Mass. Transportation Boston Police Dept.

Great piece from WHAV featuring Abundant Housing Massachusetts own Kassie Infante on why she voted for more homes as a member of the Haverhill ZBA, and why common arguments against more homes are exclusionary.

Minneapolis Fed found that 10 new market rate units frees up 7 lower income units which means IZ, even at its lowest levels, is killing much more affordable housing than it creates.

Inclusionary zoning needs to be banned. It makes the housing crisis worse.

2. All else equal, IZ always reduces production, but higher reqs lead to diminishing gains of below market-rate (BMR) units and accelerating losses of market-rate units. As figure 1 shows, there's a point where higher IZ produces fewer of *both*.

Lior Pachter I believe I have improved upon UMAP and would like to introduce you to my new method: U-map! Here are some reasons I think it’s better than other methods:
1. Preserves neighborhoods
2. Incredibly robust to noise
3. Generalizable to other letters

Permitting in Massachusetts:

“There are no deadlines currently & the process takes as long as it takes.

No project has been permitted by the Energy Facilities Siting Board over the last 25 years in less than 15 months.

The permitting process can take as long as 4 years.”
