My Twitter break is done lol

I came to get my nails done & had to wait 15m for my toes to dry before I could leave. I got bored but breaktime is over 😂

A change of environment can do wonders for your mental health, truly. Even if it’s just a daily walk that you take in your neighborhood; go explore and experience.

sometimes there’s not one thing that’s making me sad but a sadness creeps up on me. and it’s heavy. and i think about all the things in my life that could go wrong. and then i feel powerless and then like i can’t breathe. it’s really bad and i hate it.

Another big move I did last year towards the last quarter of the year was turning off my text notifications.

Ion want another *ding* bothering me. I only check my texts now whenever I feel like it 😂

'if you're working through trauma, why are you trying to date?' you will learn the true depths of your trauma from interacting with others. that's when you can see what exactly has to be worked on. in isolation, no one is around to trigger you. so how will you truly know?

Being expected to take on adult roles & responsibilities, especially emotionally & sexually, before we're developmentally ready for them can be harmful in ways we may not register until much, much later-- and even then, we often minimize how hurtful our experiences were.

Don’t feel like yourself after surviving narcissistic abuse?

Here’s why

Abuse damages your brain. Constant fight, freeze, flight response impacts how much cortisol you release. If abuse is day after day it damages the hippocampus, which impacts short term memory and learning.

Myth- all victims of intimate partner abuse were codependent before the relationship.

Fact- prior to an abusive relationship, most victims were independent and emotionally secure.

The abuse cycle of intermittent reinforcement (adoration and withholding) creates codependency.

More than half of them are just young women/girls who suddenly became an expert on a topic.

Ummmm, yeah, I think I'm gonna go look up the accuracy of this myself bc I don't believe you.

I don't walk away to teach people a lesson. I walk away because I learned mine. I'd rather adjust my life to your absence than adjust my boundaries to accommodate your disrespect.

Sweeping issues under the rug only makes things pile up. It’s better to address them instead of getting tripped up over the same issues.
