For too long, NY State's victim compensation program has been inaccessible to survivors of color. Governor Kathy Hochul, you have the opportunity to show Black and brown survivors that their healing matters, too, by signing the #FairAccesstoVictimCompensation Act into law NOW.

3. This bill was drafted by listening to survivors' needs and involving them in every step of the process. Governor Kathy Hochul we need you to sign this bill and make NY a state that values the needs of ALL survivors.

2. This bill will ensure that more survivors can access the funds they need to heal by expanding the amount of time to report a crime from one week to a reasonable amount of time and the time to file a claim for compensation from one year to three years.
