The risk of infections increases before starting methadone (or other OST), then takes some time before it reduces. There are powerful time varying risks that will confound most observational studies of the benefits of methadone, especially those comparing people on/off methadone

When will we stop thinking people facing multiple disadvantage do not want to quit smoking?! 🤯

Smoking is no less harmful because your life is harder, people need more support not less/none. There’s so much evidence to refute this out of date view now.
