Exclusions/suspensions (short term) at your school

In general, are ALL staff informed of students that have been excluded e.g for one day?

Do all staff need to know?

Today I learned about this elaborate eulogy carved into stone of a 1st c Roman husband for his wife (identity uncertain, traditionally referred to as 'Turia')
It's the longest personal document of this kind. He loved her a lot, they were married for 40 years.

You've heard of the 'jigsaw' method, where students learn a small piece and explain it to each other.

SOUNDS GREAT!

Should teachers use it?

Sarah Cottinghatt SUMMARY

• Meaningful learning is largely about making connections.
• One way to achieve this is by sequencing ideas from general to specific.
• This can help students to anchor and better organise their understanding.

Now, there is also some evidence that an understanding of the general can be effectively achieved through multiple (and varied) specific examples...

but there is no reason why both approaches can’t be used in combination.
