A nice collection of thoughts by some of the many people who got to know Danny Kahneman over the years.

Why is politics (literally) a firestorm?
In the The Guardian, I argue that bc we evolved feeling threatened, it's easy to convince ourselves that *we* are victims and *they* are evil predators bent on destruction.
But in reality, everyone is afraid.

My team at Stanford SPARQ is hiring up to two research scientists! A great fit for social psychologists who want to work in field-based settings and in direct collaboration with practitioners and communities. Academics, alt-academics, and others apply!

In light of Daniel Kahneman's passing last week, I decided to release a special bonus episode of Opinion Science (a podcast) featuring our (as-yet unreleased) full conversation with him. He talks about the early days of his work on heuristics & prospect theory

On a day of unfathomable grief, with the loss of Danny Kahneman, here's a happy moment. He was so, so, so happy when Richard H Thaler got the Nobel.
Really appreciate the point All In with Chris Hayes is making about good faith — I think we could use a lot more of it these days. Having good faith arguments can lead to progress, bad faith leads nowhere.
Thanks for the shout-out, Psychology Today! This post was adapted from the gift-giving chapter of Tightwads and Spendthrifts 🎁
A belated (but BIG!) congratulations to Pamela Prickett on the release of her riveting, moving, grace-filled new book. Pick this one up and you won't put it down: penguinrandomhouse.com/books/669835/t…
My wonderful friend and collaborator Prof. Mary Murphy (Mary C. Murphy (marycmurphy.bsky.social)) just published CULTURES OF GROWTH — a must-read on how leaders/organizations can foster growth over stagnation. We celebrated its release and stellar The Wall Street Journal review with Angela Duckworth 🎉📖⭐️
'It's tempting to just make the arguments you find persuasive, but what persuades you may seem trivial or even backwards to the audience you're addressing. Consider their values even if they differ from yours' - Andy Luttrell ow.ly/Y7Zx50QQuM2
Happy launch day to the wonderful Mary C. Murphy (marycmurphy.bsky.social)’s new book, Cultures of Growth! I’ve had the good fortune to have a front row seat to this research for almost 20 years and it’s fantastic. Enjoying it poolside in Arizona 🌴
