The only thing that's continuously bugged me about the Fallout world (as of Fallout 3 and later, at least) is that it's supposed to be 200+ years since the bombs dropped but the amount of actual decay of world objects/items makes it seem like it's been 10-20 years tops.

Online discourse is making something almost universally celebrated, which sells well, and which has a huge fan base, and yet *someone* is going to dedicate their life to ensuring everyone knows it is Objectively a Failure because it maybe made them have a thought at some point.

I want to talk a little about the danger of false positives in game development.

This isn't meant to be a downer thread, but it's something I've been thinking about a lot and noticing in terms of trends from 2021 and heading into 2022, but spans back a few years.

Oh, that's always been a thing. No Twitter victory is more cherished than that of deliberately misconstruing a post that anyone with half a brain and a bit of empathy already understood and then correcting them on it.

I stg if you make a new techno gadget it had better outright replace one of my existing ones or have a battery that lasts forever because I am at my absolute limit for the number of devices I can keep charged every day

I'm really trying to watch X-Men '97 (because folks I trust said it's good), but... wow, it charges through its stories at a breakneck pace. The 30-minute format seems like it's too small to contain the original comic story arcs, with not a single moment to take a breath.

I just replaced the batteries on both of my key fobs (which sputtered out on the same day, inconveniently). It required purchasing the tiniest screwdriver of all time and now I want to beat my chest in a display of manly endeavour.

Next: I need to replace the bulb in my fridge.

I imagine everyone would expect me to say Dragon Age, but that'd be a terrible idea. I want to see a David Lynch-style (on acid) Disco Elysium. Or maybe Banishers.

Wow, maybe it's been a while since I was in a middle seat in Economy but... I have never felt fatter. My thighs are literally wedged between the arm rests and I just have to kind of... hold my elbows. Thank God this flight's a short one. 🫠

Taking a shower at the Brisbane Qantas Lounge and I suddenly think of Josh Sawyer as I noticed the shower interface has absolutely no way to tell - other than trial and error - which way to turn for hot or cold.
