A big problem with the whole hundred debate is certain people and publications it just feels like are writing press releases for their pay masters

Lot of county members saved clubs through COVID by still paying the membership - maybe it’s time to show some respect to them

If there was previously any doubt that The Hundred is / was just a money grab, and a power grab, then this should finally lift the wool from some eyes.

If it’s true that the franchise hosts are threatening a breakaway, then it’s a despicable threat that must be withdrawn.

The Cricketer Less cricket?

I looked at my County over various seasons and we're playing less cricket now than at the peak in the 1980s with 3 List A comps.

We've lengthened the season at both ends but playing less cricket!

It's the schedule that needs sorting not how may matches.

The simple fact it is being sold is an admission that we have been unable to fulfil its potential. It's hard to see how new owners will increase its value without consequential damage to the counties.

Annie Chave Kevin Howells Alan Higham George Dobell The central point made, that should be emphasised above all else, is that there’s plenty of money in English cricket. The debate is about how it’s distributed. Do we want 8 elite super clubs, run for profit, or 18 clubs operating for the good of cricket and the England team?

Test Match Special The county championship is a wonderful competition. You keep cutting it until it's gone and once gone is gone for good. Be careful what you wish for

One-off 💰 needs to be ring fenced for infrastructure & projects that move the needle long-term

Smaller counties need to improve grounds, diversify rev streams & improve talent/ID creation

If wages need moving it is entice young talent. Not taking top players from £2m to £3m pa

A good day’s cricket, pint and a curry with my Middlesex friend.

It’s what we spend the winter talking about.

“It doesn't matter how many times we argue – correctly – that Test cricket makes up most of the Sky TV deal, so therefore you need a functioning Championship competition – it seems to fall on deaf ears. They don't listen.”

Thanks Ray, very kind

I think members of the 15 member owned counties should have a vote on a subject as huge.

Telling us what's happening is not consultation.

The future of several counties is in short to medium term peril.

The future of the rest is in longer term peril.

Cricket clubs should be embedded in communities and align to the cultural values of their fans, not sold off to corporate financiers. If lose your identity then the whole thing becomes another form of soulless entertainment.
