Great to attend the Women in Chemistry WA event focused on Wellbeing at Work. Great networking opportunity. Already met lots of people from different Unis and departments, who work in the general area of chemistry.
Thanks Alexandra Yeung and team for organising.

Ooooh! Plenary lecture invitation to a conference in NZ, South Island in November next year. I’ve always wanted to go there! Where is good to visit while I’m there (if I accept the invitation)?

The most worrying thing about this decrease in funding is that much of these funds go to paying salaries or PhDs for early career researchers. This is harming Australia's future in science by effectively reducing the number of spaces for up and coming researchers.

So we had 421 funded grants. If we had +4000 application as 10 years success rate would be <11%! Also, assume 421 funded next year, then <900 will short-listed. If +4200 EOI then <25% changes of being short-listed and <10% being funded if no new cash. ARC needs more $$$
