BREAKING: The FTC just banned non-compete agreements.

The Federal Trade Commission has issued a final rule making it illegal for bosses to make workers sign noncompetes in any scenario, and voiding nearly all existing noncompetes.

This is a game changer for American workers.

Unanimous! What a slam dunk of a case!!! Grateful for this reminder from Gupta Wessler LLP that we can still find ways to carve out meaningful wins for working people in the federal courts.

As we discussed Strict Scrutiny Podcast Bennett has been on quite the winning streak for employees in FAA cases - and was characteristically fabulous in this case, Bissonette

Uber gave $4 million last month to the PAC leading an effort to cap attorney fees at 20 percent in Nevada civil cases.

Today's decision in Bissonnette is, in my view, a major victory for workers whose jobs involve transportation of goods or services. It clarifies that federal law does NOT give their employers the power to force any legal claims (like a wage dispute) into mandatory arbitration.

CONGRATULATIONS to my superstar colleague Jennifer Bennett on today's unanimous victory for workers in Bissonnette!!!

Jenn wasn't just amazing at oral argument. She's responsible for this entire trilogy of cases that make it easier for workers to get access to justice!

'Uber Sexual Assault Survivors for Legal Accountability contends that Uber is pushing the ballot initiative to make it harder for sexual assault victims to find lawyers.' A 20% cap on contingent fees 'is a big deal. Keep your eyes on this litigation.'

The pattern here is Uber playing whack-a-mole with fundamental civil rights. According to this case from Gupta Wessler LLP on behalf of sexual assault survivors, once Congress gave survivors the right to go to court, Uber went to the ballot to take it away. . . there's more. /1

This is an interesting new development in Nevada in the ongoing struggle over civil litigation—a ballot initiative capping contingency fees, filed by a PAC that is allegedly directed and funded by Uber.

Uber has a new strategy for silencing survivors: Prevent people who have been sexually assaulted, harassed, or otherwise injured from getting the representation they need to sue Uber in court.

Read about it in this suit we filed last night:

Uber faces hundreds of civil cases over its failure to protect riders from sexual assault. Uber's solution?

Propose a ballot initiative to make it hard for survivors to get lawyers--a cap on contingency fees--and claim you're 'putting victims first.'
