Update on today’s flooding: I’m safe. House is safe. Records are safe. I got the workout of my life (again) hauling them early this morning. I even emailed a street repair request to RoadworkNOLA. Flash floods have always been a part of life here, but they feel crazier now. Why?

Last time there was major street flooding, I (like a fool) braved streets (traversing various routes) trying to reach WWOZ, where a PBS documentary film crew waited for me. Never made it, but at least I didn’t get car flooded. Can’t say same for countless others I saw submerged.
