If we're lucky, there might be a polar orbiting satellite pass and we can see if it broke the -90C mark! Given the coarse resolution of GOES (2km) -87.3C is already super impressive for an OT!!

The thing I hate most about social media right now is that everyone just wants to monetize themselves.

Can’t you just be you & not try to coach or sell me into something?

This is honestly why I use social media less & less these days. Tired of ads.

Impressive late-season low pressure system will bring short, sharp hit of cold rain (and mountain snow above ~4k ft) this wknd. Nearly everywhere in NorCal should see good soaking, w/lighter showers into SoCal. This will be quite a cold system by May standards... [1/4]

Today's version of May gray included a lil May drizzle here in inland North County. An eddy off the coast is kicking up a hefty cloud deck. The weather service expects valleys to reach the mid 70s, coast the high 60s. Cooler Saturday, cooler still Sunday.

Vorticity Tendency Equation says it shouldn’t be surprising that a strong tornado can form when there is weak low-level shear if there is ample tilting/stretching. Solenoidal (baroclinic) vorticity from a boundary + tilt/stretch favors rapid increase of vertical vorticity
