When you request a specific doc for your child other than whom your paeds suggests because you were told the wait was shorter, pls trust your doctor and their staff to know the “lay of the land” on those who will see actually your kids.

Let's be clear...

MORE medical students chose FM in the first round this year than last (1450 vs. 1361).
MORE FM spots were unmatched last year (268 vs. 253).
We have work to do. Especially in Ontario.
But let's celebrate the 1450 students who chose FM!

Administrative work takes away precious time from patient care.

The time to act is now to reduce this crushing burden and let doctors focus on providing care.

If you would like your paediatricians and primary care providers to see more people - you should know that central referral would open our capacity to see more people. My office is not seeing patients now as I will spend the next 3-5 hours doing similar work. OCFP

This could go a long way to:
1. Increase cervical cancer screening rates
2. Improve comfort with a clinical exam for some patients
3. Reduce a task that requires a large human resource effort in primary care

That is 10 family docs away from 100,000 patients without access to primary care. That’s nearly 1/4 people without access
