It's worth me saying, that it's really not just about in house lawyers, and may not even mainly be about them. Some of the worst behaviours appear to come from solicitors and barristers in private practice.

So the PA examined and took the history of a patient.

And the tribunal determined that the doctor failed in their duties for not examining the patient or taking a history themselves and in addition to the PA.

What exactly is the purpose of a PA in this medico-legal context?

This case is all that is wrong with whistleblowing law plus 140 tonnes of Plutonium.

An utter disgrace

If you don't re-examine and take a history from a patient a PA has seen, you can get struck off.

Don't train.
Don't supervise.
Don't entertain PAs.

Perhaps the most striking single bit of evidence today.

Me: it’s not a movie. Lawyers don’t send email: proposing “suppressing” a report and admitting this amounts to “withholding key documents”.
