Most pollsters use online panels to get their polling samples. Whilst polls are weighted to be representative of the population, the people who sign up to online panels tend to be much more engaged than the median voter.

Reform UK are standing in 3 of tonight's 6 council by-elections, 2 of which they have stood in previously.

Will be interesting to see if there's any evidence to back up their recent polling surge (3 consecutive polls in double figures) - so far there has not been.
