An important moment for the EU economy as European Parliament backs the reform of our fiscal rules. A compromise, with worthwhile improvements on the status quo: more space for public investment, credible debt reduction, greater national ownership. A good step forward.

I welcome this positive European Parliament vote on revised EU economic governance.

It paves way for new #fiscal rules to enter into force in next weeks. We now look forward to receiving Member States’ fiscal-structural plans by September 20.

The European Commission has today published the in-depth reviews (IDRs) for six Member States 🇫🇷🇩🇪🇬🇷🇭🇺🇮🇹🇵🇹 to assess the existence of macroeconomic imbalances.

The six IDRs for 🇨🇾🇳🇱🇷🇴🇸🇰🇪🇸🇸🇪 have been published already on 25 March.
