Thread: A question for school leaders and please feel free to DM. Does anyone still value knowledge and experience over cheaper ECTs? This is in no way a dig, it is just something that I, and others of my age are really desperate to know because it is becoming an issue.

Final tutorials before trainees hand in last L7 piece - just read a section of a fantastic reflective piece by a music trainee with one of our SD partners. It's *so* great to see someone using generic and subject specific concepts and techniques in such a thoughtful way.

My heart is bursting with joy and happiness. To receive a BAFTA Fellowship is something I never dreamed would happen to me. All I did was try to make a difference to the lives of others. Hope my Babies are happy for me ❤️

I'm going to say it because too few people do who should.

Sadiq Khan is easily the best Mayor that London has had.

And easily one of the most decent, principled and courageous figures in politics today.

Don't let minor quibbles over policy dissuade you from proclaiming it.

Is it easy to challenge electoral literature? Are there any laws? We have received a booklet from the North of Tyne Mayor candidates and the Conservative one claims that he’s in charge of schools in Northumberland and has overseen a rise in league tables.

The total amount of (education) research we produce is enormous, too much in my opinion. Obviously that means there's a lot of research of every quality. I think it's ludicrous to generalise about the quality of (education) research.

Teachers: A lack of reward is one of 6 factors that contribute to Burnout (Maslach). Reward can be appreciation. When was the last time someone said, ‘Well done’ or ‘Thank you’ about your job?

Absolutely inspiring lunch time research seminar from Christina Turner talking about her group's classroom research on how trainee maths teachers learn about adaptive teaching.

Ed Podesta ⭐ John Leach Mark Boylan I thought I was beginning to see signs about this from the EEF, where evaluations seemed to be considering mixed methods stuff in their RCTs. However whilst the RCT is taken to be the “gold standard” so much excellent research is not just ignored, it is not even considered.

Hard to comprehend what drives someone to joke about and celebrate the terrifying death of a child.

On social media and off it, we have fallen to such a dark place.

I’m not interested in gatekeeping for ‘professional’ historians based on a credential, but to make credible contributions to such debates you have to immerse yourself deeply in the literature and the sources (and try to be fair to them) - and it’s mostly professionals who do this

The streets of Westminster are full of flags, scattered with broken glass and, in places, running with what I’m choosing to believe is spilt lager.
For calm sanity I’ve come away from the bellicose end of Trafalgar Square, to remind myself of an idea of English I can look up to.

1/6. Now the Institute of Economic Affairs, the right wing think tank that understood economic affairs so well that it inspired Liz Truss’ disastrous mini-budget, is getting in on the act of supporting Kemi Badenoch’s historical denialism.

Let’s look at the ‘argument’ here. It
