DPS troopers are not your average campus cops—they will use force with zero provocation. They will arrest you for standing there. They will shoot you, baton you, mace you, taze you, kneel on you. The threat to students in Austin is a lot different than in other major cities

Columbia tried to use mass arrests to shut down its student encampment on night 2, & a week later encampments have spread across North America. The student movement not only persevered in the face of repression, but is now leading a new wave of organizing against Zionist genocide

Everyone’s already said this but what an unbelievable moment for Tennessee, just transition, and workers in the South. And a lesson for unions worried about investing their energy and resources in the South - labor can win here if they’re organized, same as anywhere else.

Tonight at Columbia Jewish students led a full Shabbat service at the Gaza solidarity encampment. Minutes later Muslim students had their evening prayer service. All surrounded by love.

i just received notice that i am 1 of 3 students suspended for standing in solidarity with Palestinians facing a genocide.

Just got out of jail after Columbia called NYPD to mass arrest 100+ students. I have been suspended and evicted from housing by Barnard. This has only strengthened my commitment to the movement for Palestinian liberation and I promise to continue fighting for divestment.
