As Mage's dam Puca was a $2.9m sale afterwards we compare Keeneland Book 1 including Private sales to 2022: sold/cat 52.2% (-6.7%), gross $60,945,000 (-11%), average $465,229 (-4%). Gross -$7.5m but top 2 this year vs last year -$5.1m which would make gross difference -4% also.

How does this even happen? Last year Fasig-Tipton Night of the Stars (yes, let's call it by it's real name) the gross was $101,214,000 for 169 sold through the ring (avg $598,899). Tonight 154 sold for $101,281,000 (avg $657,669). The gross was up $67,000 - 7/100ths of 1%!

At Kentucky November 1st 2 days: 8 mares i/f to Lane's End Flightline averaged $1,415,625, 9 mares i/f to Spendthrift Farm Into Mischief averaged $1,252,778 Fasig-Tipton Keeneland Sales. No surprise, the market likes him!
