Feeling a bit betrayed by Melbourne's warm weather today, because the (evidently not) neverending cold is one of the main factors I point to when I'm trying to decide whether I miss living here or not.

I just registered for the SSHM (@sshmedicine.bsky.social) conference this July in Glasgow and to say that I’m excited about it, as well as about returning to Scotland (where, in 2018, someone made my life by calling me poppet in a train station) is a bit of an understatement - it’s my first SSHM!

I speak in this documentary about how outdated conceptions of war-related trauma over the 20th c still sadly inform the way we see soldiers & veterans today, which prevents traumatised military personnel from seeking care.
