A great privilege to be in #Doncaster last night for the launch of Sir Patrick Duffy’s second book, written to celebrate his 103rd birthday.
His speech was as spirited as ever!

What a night at The Midland Hotel Bradford for our St. Patrick's Céilí. Thanks to all who came & supported a great night of music & dance! 😊☘️Thanks to Embassy of Ireland for its support, Conor MacMahon for pulling it all together, & C & C Media for putting this excellent video together!
Thank you Dr Ciaran McCabe for a thoughtful and positive review of my book on the O'Conor Don for Irish Historical Studies. The snippet below neatly sums up a lot of what I was trying to say/argue about the complex identity of Irish Catholic unionists.

That's two weeks of my Durham Residential Research Library fellowship done. I've struggled with being away from my wife & kids, but being in the archives, thinking & writing, and meeting new people was great. Durham is lovely & the people are friendly. Looking forward to my next two weeks in May.
