So, let's talk Ushoran. From Lord of Masks to Summerking.

Today I want to ramble on about a character that has grown on me for the last year and a half, that otherwise I wouldn't have given much of a shit about beyond a cool model.

My article, with the self-explanatory title 'The illustrated natural history lectures of Benjamin Waterhouse Hawkins given in Britain, 1850s–1880s', is now available in SHNH's Archives of Natural History. Cameo role for Crystal Palace Dinos (doi.org/10.3366/anh.20…).

Here is the list of falcons sent by the Teutonic Order as diplomatic gifts in one year alone.

They sent a lot of falcons to Wenceslaus and his brother Sigismund due to the Order's friendly relationship with the House of Luxemburg.

Classic artwork just hits different.
S'till tempting to pick up some T'au minis, even all these years after their release in 3rd ed .
I think its something their more modern interpretations have evolved from but have lost the essence of along the way.

Much like elephants and lions, horses too used to be everywhere.

Little wild horse I doodled late last night. It's meant to be Hippidion, a South American native equine that went extinct as recently as 11,000 years ago.

The blue antelope was hunted to extinction just 34 years after it was first scientifically described.

Between 1666 and 1680, the English parliament sought to protect the wool trade, by requiring the dead to be buried in nothing but a shroud of English sheep's wool. Plague victims and the destitute were the only exceptions.
