Just as Justice Lee described the Lehrmann/Higgins/10 matter as an “omnishambles” the sound went on the court live stream. He has paused, presumably until tech probes fixed.

I just don’t get why rich multi-national companies need support from Australian taxpayers, when not-for-profit,home grown festivals, venues, musicians and suppliers are struggling. theguardian.com/culture/2024/a…

I've got a new article on the hidden history of the dismissal of the Whitlam government - out now in Australian Journal of Politics & History. Why are the archives still closed 50 years later? Why can't we know our own history? I hope you enjoy it!

Yesterday I met a single Mum who is getting kicked out of her rental home.

She’s been there for a long time and has never been late with her rent.

She has two kids and two weeks left to find somewhere in Penrith. She cannot find anywhere and was exasperated.

Can anyone help?

Peter Dutton says he would deal with antisemitism by mandating teaching of the holocaust. I agree it’s vital that the Holocaust is taught. It already is mandatory in NSW and Victoria, and part of the National History Curriculum.

As a survivor of the Port Arthur massacre I find Dutton’s words despicable, disrespectful & inappropriate. I find that most of what Dutton says lately is becoming more and more unhinged.

Geez you have to work hard to make me think Morrison is getting unfairly criticised, but Tone is willing to put in that effort

One of John Howard's proudest achievements — his respectful response to the Port Arthur massacre will remain a legacy we can all be proud of.

Peter Dutton's Port Arthur comments tonight, on the other hand, are utterly disrespectful and insensitive.
