How about *both* being real problems?

Beware false antitheses. A lot of things are not either/or, but both/and.

Not much in this complex world is starkly dichotomous. Unless we start by acknowledging nuance and complexity, we shan't solve anything.

Jane, Empress of the Known Universe (not GP)🏳️‍🌈 She talks nonsense with such authority. Expensive education does this. Many people listening then mistake articulacy and confidence for intelligence

I used to have to attend meetings in basement rooms in New York to hear conspiracy theories as nutty as this. But on GB News they're just nodded through.

Defending people who wouldn't defend you if your circumstances were reversed is a feature, not a bug, of having actual principles

Lovely Sunday morning.

Things I no longer have any patience or time for.

Academics who think twitter/X reflects actual reality.

Academics who do not understand the status of the Cass Report and are rubbishing it. I have never seen Reports like the MacPherson Report, Scarman…

The ideological capture of UCU means that is now all but impossible for a scientist to be a member. This is a grave concern for anyone who cares about the employment conditions of academics.

So, Baroness Hunt, Stonewall did far more wrong than merely 'trust the experts'. It, and you personally, are deeply implicated in a medical scandal that has destroyed many vulnerable children's lives. You're not going to get away with rewriting history. Not this time 8/8

Easy to delete or 'correct' online content. But impossible to recall all the printed volumes of Kim Il Sung's and Kim Jong Il's works, of Rodong Sinmun, Kyongje Yongu, and so on. And of course many, including NKNews, have archived all the online articles anyway.

'The Guardian isn't owned by a billionaire media mogul or shareholders who need to see profits. In fact, Guardian Media Group has one just shareholder: the Scott Trust.'

What about all the unjust shareholders, eh?

The @Guardian. Can't even proof-read its own puffs.

The DC Blob engaged in lots of performative sighs of relief in 2022 when Yoon was elected president: 'revitalizing the alliance' was a common title of policy papers at the time. As if under progressive govts, the US-ROK alliance was in tatters, which is most surely was not...

Very well said by Dave.

Many of Yoon’a cheerleaders in DC have struck me as being deeply disconnected to how things actually are in 🇰🇷 and it’s one of the reasons I’ve stopped reading much of their work…

They ignored the polls over and over and promote policies few want here.
