In 1986 Michael Mitchiner went out on something of a limb, attributing a late medieval ampulla design to Doncaster - given a single find there. But, since then, three more ampullae with a crowned 'u' have been recorded by @findsorguk, two from Doncaster.

Generally most 'modern' objects aren't recorded by @findsorguk. However, exceptions can be made for items of social or historical interest like this this livery button of The Honourable Venables-Vernon-Harcourt (Archbishop of York, 1807-1847). finds.org.uk/database/artef…

Here is an interesting find from the Selby district for : A Roman trumpet brooch lead model dating to about AD 75 - 175, featuring a central moulded acanthus motif. A pretty rare find, with only seven other similar ones in Portable Antiquities

Ever wondered what Roman copper alloy coins would have looked like when they were new? We are exposing small areas to take samples to understand their chemical composition. Look how shiny this brass sestertius is under the corrosion! @findsorguk PUBLIC-585486

For - here is a charming 18th century toy pewter plate, found and recorded with @FindsOrgUK. Exceptionally well preserved it still retains a shiny and toned surface after 300 years in the mud. (finds.org.uk/database/artef…)
