Our CEO Faith Mwangi-Powell highlighted further barriers faced by girls to #education , including conflict, unpaid care work & lack of access to period products and underlined the need for education to be gender-transformative & shift gender norms.

Speaking on behalf on Malala Fund, Naomi K. articulated the challenges posed by the existing international financial architecture in financing education, calling for global financial reform to redistribute & increase budgets to fund #education .

Children’s Rights Advocacy Director Human Rights Watch, Jo Becker, shared the call for the adoption of an Optional Protocol to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child guaranteeing access to minimum 1 year of free pre-primary #education & free secondary education.

We heard from Roberto Baeza from The Hunger Project México on how the feminisation of #poverty in Latin America and around the world reflects a structural and global problem driving child marriage #CEFMU . Girls Not Brides LAC

They also reminded not to forget marginalised girls who are most vulnerable,
