Just back home after Middlesbrough FC 3 v 4 Leeds. A proper match. Disappointed to lose but proud of the lads, they made a game of it. It's great to see Latte Lath grow in confidence, he will be big player for us next season. I seem to have lost my voice from shouting at the linesman... #utb
One last guitartastic pic from last night's SLUG_The_Band/Artist gig at Sea Change CIC.
I like the cut of your jib... EnnJayDee
It was an ace evening Ian. You & the gang put a big smile on the faces of the sellout crowd, raised some much-needed funds for Sea Change CIC ...and squeezed in a cheeky tenth anniversary celebration. I'm glad I was there, take a bow sir π«΅
Gig 19/24 - a quick hop the road to see Slug SLUG_The_Band/Artist at Sea Change CIC in South Shields.
Cobwebs were well & truly blown away by a typically energetic, face-meltin' rock show from Ian and his gang, with sound wrangled by Martin Harbourmaster Productions + support from Old Man π
Gig 18/24 - up at Sunderland's The Fire Station today for a stirring afternoon show by NASUWTRiverside brass band, with guest appearence from Field Music π A beautiful sound π―πΊπ―πΊ
Had a couple of listens to 'Binding Time' now. It's another sonic marvel, beautifully recorded by those Brewis Field Music fellas, and a lovely pressing too - flat, quiet & warm πΆ
As expected, it's an interesting song cycle, and a great marriage of bands, rock & brass π
It was nice & sunny early this morning waiting for Crash Records to open at 8am. Still a bit chilly mind π
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is shamelessly attempting to blame the poorest & most vulnerable members of our society his own Governmentβs abject failure on the economy & the NHS. Itβs an absolute disgrace. Iβm sure the Sunday morning politics shows canβt wait to point that out
Not a fan of the manufactured rarity aspect of Record Store Day Record Store Day UK, but very happy to pick up two genuine new releases today from Field Music and English Teacher
Thanks, as ever, to our friends at Crash Records
Gig 17/24 - a great, stripped-back in-store show & signing from English Teacher English Teacher at Crash Records
The band were in great form and justifiably chuffed to be #8 in the charts. Lovely folks too, taking time to chat to all.
Congratulations on an ace album π
Gig 16/24 - sellout show at Nath Brudenell for Jane Weaver's dreamy hypnotic groovee pop supported by Adwaith's widescreen guitar-pop π
Gig 15/24 - an excellent 3 band bill at Nath Brudenell, Leeds - classy headliners Omni Omni supported by ace local bands Little Hand Feet @littlehandfeet and The Black Lagoons THE BLACK LAGOONS
A feast of spiky guitars, driving bass and wonky, complex rhythms π
Gig 14/24 - a great Friday night at Nath Brudenell with Dry Cleaning supported by Sofftness (who were great btw π). Once again its the winning combination of top-drawer live entertainment, ace venue, great sound, good company and my fave beer πΊ Virtuous Kirkstall Brewery
Still having fun making a racket with the Fostex XR-7. The first take is usually the right takeπβοΈ
