My view on how customer service went so bad:

The key issue is relentless narrow KPIs:

eg reduce phone answer times by having endless IVRs before putting customer on hold before transferring to another dept. Terrible customer experience but senior management see KPIs being hit

Great to see the Financial Times taking customer service so seriously ft.com/content/0a5d30…. It really matters - esp in non-face to face universal services. And delighted that Octopus Energy mentioned in positives by The Institute of Customer Service for going beyond 'transactional' to really help customers.

It's odd that Ben has to insert dots into Octopus, and misspell Tesla before beginning an astonishingly unpleasant diatribe and series of nasty assertions and character attacks into people who (typically because they like the products) like the companies.

Without returning the personal attack, economic consequences are one of the key reasons climate change matters.

After all, climate deniers tend to use (often false/weak) cost arguments to advocate against clean energy.

Rejecting heat pumps & EVs is accepting climate change.

And only an idiot thinks extreme weather is something you can safeguard against

One's an investment in a technology which has permanent benefits and keeps getting cheaper. The other is the cost of dependence on fossil fuels

Lord Callanan (who actually understands heat pumps) is bang right.

We've had enough demand to soak up the entire govt scheme- but we literally cannot meet that demand. We're building recruitment, training and even manufacturing as quickly as humanly possible.
