35 years ago, CVG printed this map for Master System Golvellius. I'd reviewed this fun action-adventure a few months earlier and had thoroughly enjoyed it - as had many others judging by the letters I received about it. Some asked for for help, so this map felt like a good idea!

35 years ago, after months of frustration (and declining sales), I was finally able to relaunch CVG. Out went the boring stuff, and in came wall-to-wall games coverage. The Mean Machines console and tips sections were expanded, and we featured a ton more reviews. 1/2

We also hired artist Jerry Paris to give the mag a consistent look. His style felt much more contemporary than CVG’s older covers. Indeed, this was going to be the original cover before we decided to change it. The new one feels so much more dynamic. The start of a new era. 2/2
