A great artist, conductor, and collaborator, he was a wizard with soloists, with perfect, clear baton technique and a wide-ranging, all-encompassing musical mind. I’ll miss him a lot, after more than 50 years of collaboration.

Wonderful memory of my time in Singapore earlier this month with Maestro Hans Graf, Guest Concertmaster David Coucheron and Singapore Symphony Orchestra members Michael Loh and Yoong-Han Chen. Very grateful to collaborate with such extraordinary musicians.

I had the pleasure of playing many concerts and making several recordings with my friend, the great contralto Ewa Podleś. Ewa died on January 19, in Warsaw.

I treasure the memory of her matchless, larger-than-life artistry, her intensity, and her rare integrity.
