In 1989 I went for an interview with a Labour MP. We discussed the Anglican church service, about which I knew a bit and he knew a lot. I got the job over the naifs who tried to talk politics. Frank Field became my boss and in time my friend. Fare thee well, Frank.

Very sad news. Frank served the people of Birkenhead for 40 years. Everyone in the Wirral will be thinking of his life and contribution. He was indeed unique and a very special person to work with. His work will have an impact for many years to come. Thinking of his loved ones.
