Seems to have been a real advance in baseline protest tactics over the past few years. People are moving rapidly to de-arrest, push the cops out, defy dispersal orders etc. Can’t wait to see what’s next !

Wrapping up my first shift as an EJP faculty support for the Northwestern Gaza Solidarity encampment. An exciting day, and I’ve never felt more connected with my students. Heading home before my shift tomorrow, but first, let me share some things about the camp.

Wow. I recognize a couple of these folks at my alma mater. They’re being arrested not just at their workplace but also at their homes, since some live on campus.

I see one of my dissertation advisors in some of these crowd shots getting arrested. So proud!

Reporting that gianpaolo baiocchi was arrested tonight in the NYU protests. We stand in solidarity with him and all NYU faculty and students protesting. Free Palestine.

JUST IN: Faculty members of NYU walk onto the encampment and begin forming a human chain. Palestine protesters erupted in cheers! Chanting “keep us safe! Keep us safe”. It now dawns the hour of this “unspecified response” by NYU admin but staff appears to oppose it.
